Professor Omari is Teacher-researcher in rural agricultural and agri-food economics since 1993. Expert consultant in agricultural and food policy with the FAO. Trainer of agricultural engineers and managers of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development in Algeria. He is also a former Minister of Agriculture, Rural Development and Fisheries.

Dr. Shahid is working as an Assistant Professor in department of Crop Sciences, College of Agricultural and Marine Sciences, Sultan Qaboos University, Oman. Prior to joining SQU, he worked as a postdoctoral associate at University of Arkansas USA, and postdoctorate fellow at Tokyo University of Agriculture, Japan. He earned Bachelor of honors in Agriculture, as well as a Master of honors in agriculture and plant pathology and Ph. D in molecular plant virology. As a Crop Science faculty member, he teaches CROP2020; Laboratory safety, practices and principles CROP2201; Introduction to Agricultural biotechnology CROP4000; Recombinant DNA technology CROP 4546; Integrated disease management CROP6009; Plant Virology, undergraduate and graduate courses. His research focuses mainly on single stranded DNA viruses (begomoviruses; family: Geminiviridae) infecting important agricultural crops, virus host interaction and their management. Currently, he has been the author of many ISI Journal publications, book chapter and the article.

Dr. Mona Ali Albloushi

Dr. Mona Ali Albloushi

Agricultural Research Department. Ministry of Municipality, Doha, Qatar
Dr.Mona Ali al Bloushi, get her PhD in Gene Transformation at the University of Bristol in 2022, has been working in the Agricultural Research Department at the Ministry of Municipality since 2006, where she has contributed to the implementation of research projects by employing the latest biological and molecular technologies in the study and analysis of plants. Her work includes supervising laboratory projects and developing genetic analysis methods. She also participates in formulating and evaluating research programs at the Qatar Research, Development, and Innovation Council, contributing to the transfer of knowledge and innovation to serve the country's sustainability priorities. During her career, she holds several positions, most notably as a biotechnology expert, deputy head of the scientific team of the Research and Food Security Committee, and the country's representative to the FAO for Microbiology and Biocontrol. She has contributed to highlighting biotechnology by initiating a Biotechnology Day at the Ministry. She has also gained extensive experience in gene isolation and genetic mutation.

She has also moderated and participated in multiple scientific & environmental seminars, exhibitions and conferences.

Prof Mohamed Khodja is a Research Director at Sonatrach/Algerian Petroleum Institute. He received his PhD in Chemical Engineering and Environment in 2008 from Toulouse National Polytechnic Institute. Since 1993, he started working at Sonatrach/Research and Development Center. He was the Director of Upstream Research and Development Division (2016 – 2018) and Director of Central Directorate of Research and Development at Sonatrach (2018-2020). Currently, he is a founding member of the Algerian Academy of Sciences and Technologies (AAST), Vice-President of the Algerian Process Engineering Group, and also the Founder and Secretary General of the Algerian Clay Group affiliated with AIPEA.

Prof Houda Belguendouz began her postgraduate studies in 2001 and completed a Magister in Biochemistry–Immunology in 2005, followed by a PhD in 2013 focused on autoimmunity and autoinflammation. She obtained her university habilitation in 2015 and became a full professor in 2020. She currently lead the “Cytokines and NO Synthases: Immunity and Pathogenesis” team and coordinate the 2021 Biotechnology PhD program. She produced numerous publications, awards, and active collaborations, and she supervise several doctoral theses in immunology and biotechnology.
